Increase the value of your network

By using ‘one common infrastructure design’ a hospitality venue operator can increase the value of its network by allowing employees, guests, contractors, business partners and others to share the same wireless infrastructure securely using guest Internet access credentials. Aptilo’s hospitality Wi-Fi solution offers maximum flexibility with a unified, robust subscriber and service management platform using our carrier-class Wi-Fi functionality for paying users and our guest Internet access functionality for employees and business partners.

No user can gain access to the network before a secure SSL browser-based registration and authentication has been successfully completed and the terms of usage accepted. Individual registration enables a high level of security and traceability of each user and their usage.

With growing national and public security concerns, the Aptilo Legal Intercept Module provides the network forensics tool needed to track and store connection tracking data and trace end users in a NAT:ed network if such data is requested by law enforcement officials.

Hospitality Wi-Fi billing

Billing through PMS SystemsSimplified billing maximizes revenue opportunities. Aptilo SMP allows for a myriad of payment options including signing up for service online and paying by credit card though our built-in Web portals.

A commonly used method of billing is to integrate the charging of the Internet service with the hotel’s PMS (property management system) so that the guests can be charged via their hotel bill. The Aptilo system has native support for popular PMS systems such as Micros-Fidelio, Techotel and Opera.

Easy “plug-n-play” user access

When a user opens a standard Web browser, they will automatically be redirected to a custom branded Captive Portal page for registration and authentication to the wireless broadband service. The “look and feel’ of the entry portal page is customizable for each location.

Once the authentication process is complete, information access is customized based on the user’s profile, such as whether they are a guest or an employee, ensuring a secure and easy-to-use wireless access experience.

Premium services generate additional revenue

Adding wireless Internet services will improve the venue’s bottom line in one way or another, either directly or in-directly with a free service and happy returning customers. Providing that service to meetings and conventions adds even more value.

Tiered pricing – where a guest can pay a higher price for a wider pipe or access to additional services will have a significant impact on revenue. Premium services can be offered for different rooms and organizations, even down to individual users.

A flexible system that allows the venue to allocate bandwidth anywhere in the property, and quickly, is the key for success in monetizing the available bandwidth . Imagine the ability to be able to deliver Internet service – at an instant – allocating guaranteed bandwidth to different rooms and users while making sure that the capacity is not overbooked. With Aptilo you can.

The built-in policy engine in the Aptilo SMP uses service profiles to define these different service levels which are then enforced by the Aptilo Access Controller™.

"Our hotel partners are happy that the high-speed Internet services we manage improve their image as a modernized facility; the quality of service connectivity makes their guests happy and the new revenue streams make us all happy. " Vanessa Real, PSAV Sales Manager for the La Costa Resort and Spa
