Prepaid and Hotlining support: The prepaid and hotlining support according to the latest NWG ratified standards enables a WiMAX 16e operator to make use of a new suite of business models and extend beyond the traditional post-paid schemes to ensure better cash flow from their operations and minimize the business risks. This is particularly of interest in many developing markets and for greenfield operators looking for a new market positioning.

The prepaid support makes it possible to activate charging models based on for instance :

Volume-based charging
Duration-based charging
Time-of-day and day-of-week charging with differentiated rating
Prepaid charging of ad-hoc users
Subscription-based charging for prepaid accounts, optionally with recurring charging

The Hotlining support enables redirection of users to a Hotlining Portal e.g. to activate new users and devices through a self-signup process or to recharge an existing prepaid account when funds are depleted.

Aptilo’s provisioning API enables next-generation WiMAX services where an external application - such as video-on-demand systems - can trigger a change of authorization to temporarily e.g. increase the bandwidth for a user.
