WiMAX / TD-LTE Service Management

WiMAX / TD-LTE Wireless Broadband Service Management

Aptilo entered the WiMAX market in 2006 because we saw an emerging wireless broadband market, with the same type of requirements and business models that we had implemented in our many carrier-class Wi-Fi deployments worldwide.

Since then we have become a leading vendor of WiMAX AAA systems and the market leader of pre-integrated WiMAX service management systems.

Migration from WiMAX to TD-LTE

In 2010 we added LTE Evolved Packet Core (EPC) support to the Wi-Fi and WiMAX capabilities found in our award-winning pre-integrated system – Aptilo Service Management Platform™.  We did this to support our existing WiMAX customers so they could easily migrate to or add TD-LTE at a later date, preserving investments and positioning them for future growth. TD-LTE is the perfect choice for existing WiMAX operators as they can use the existing TDD spectrum also for TD-LTE and it will be easier to find supply for dual radio WiMAX / TD-LTE devices.

Starting with a WiMAX or TD-LTE service from scratch

Aptilo's pre-integrated wireless service management system for fast-track deploymentsOur WiMAX service management solution have been field-proven in many deployments world-wide. We expect that TD-LTE will also soon be deployed by traditional wireless broadband Internet service providers starting from scratch or re-farming existing spectrum. The Aptilo Service Management System with built-in pre-integrated subsystems for Subscriber Management, Web Portals, Statistics & Reporting and Prepaid & Charging is ideal for those operators needing a cost-effective TD-LTE EPC solution with fast-time-to-market. Their fundamental needs will not change just because they are using a new radio access technology. We also offer the flexibility to pick-and- choose from these subsystems starting with the Aptilo WiMAX AAA+ Server™ and the Aptilo Policy & Charging Server™ for LTE deployments.

We pride ourselves in developing standards-compliant products with value added functionality that are just right for a certain customer group or deployment scenario. Learn more about what this mean for wireless broadband in our in-depth section.
