Management Team

Aptilo Networks is led by a seasoned group of executives with background from Ericsson, Sun, large telecom operators and fast- growing companies in the IT industry. Large enterprise and telecom backgrounds combined with true entrepreneurship may not be the most common, but has been instrumental to Aptilo’s success always challenging the status quo with new innovative and pragmatic solutions to the issues facing service providers in their daily operation.

 

Paul Mikkelsen – CEO

Paul has more than 25 years of experience in international telecommunication and IT and was part of Aptilo Networks’ founding team in 2001. Prior to Aptilo he was Director of Business Development at Axis, responsible for the European market for the Mobile Internet Division. Paul held different executive positions in marketing and business during 10+ years at Ericsson. While there, based in Kuala Lumpur, he was responsible for fixed public operator business for the region. Paul holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Economics from the University of Örebro, Sweden.

 

Ulf Stigberg – CFO

Ulf has more than 25 years of experience in the telecom industry. He has been the CFO of Aptilo Networks since its inception as part of the founding team in 2001. Before Aptilo Networks, Ulf was responsible for Business Control and Operations at Axis’ Mobile Internet Division. Prior to Axis, he held various positions and roles within Ericsson, such as Financial Controller for the Public Networks Operator Unit and as Business Manager and Regional Marketing Manager in Malaysia. Prior to that he served several years in product management and strategic product marketing. Ulf holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Economics from the Luleå University of Technology, Sweden. He has also studied corporate finance at Colorado School of Mines, Denver, Colorado.

 

Jonas Jacobsson – COO (Sales Americas & APAC)

Jonas Jacobsson has more than 15 years of experience in international telecommunication and joined Aptilo Networks in 2012 as Director of Partner Management. In 2013 he took on the role as VP Sales Americas from Aptilo’s regional headquarters in Plano, Texas. Prior to Aptilo, Jonas was Director of Business Development for Smith Micro Software. He also served as Director of Engineering for Insignia Solutions, Chief Technology Officer for Mi4e Device Management AB and Telecom Consultant for Parallel Consulting Group AB. He also worked at Ericsson for several years as Project Manager.

 

Jonas Björklund – CTO

mng_jbJonas Björklund has developed broad technical knowledge within IT, networks and telecom through his more than 15 years in the wireless industry. As co-founder of Aptilo and with a background in various roles including product management, Jonas has played an important part in developing the Aptilo solution into what it is today. In his role as Aptilo’s CTO, working from our Dallas office, he continues this mission of developing and articulating Aptilo´s strategic technical direction through close dialogue and relationships with customers, partners and other industry influencers. He is deeply involved in the everyday process of developing and designing the solution, and meeting the complex requirements of new and demanding markets. Jonas has an M.Sc. in System Engineering and background within technical pre-sales, project management and software development. Jonas has extensive international sales experience with EMEA, APAC and the Americas. Prior to Björklund’s role as CTO he served as Director Global Sales Engineering at Aptilo.

 

Johan Terve – VP Marketing

Johan has more than 30 years of experience working in the IT industry, and spent the last 20 years in various CEO, VP and Director positions. He joined Aptilo in 2007 and prior to that he served as VP Marketing & Sales at Ingate Systems and in that position he succeeded in putting the company on the map as a leading global player in SIP-capable firewalls and SIP trunking solutions for enterprise Voice-over-IP. As Marketing Director for Nordic Datadistribution, a $130M company, he was responsible for all business divisions and corporate marketing and helped this major IT equipment distributor become the fastest growing company in Sweden for four consecutive years. Johan started his career as a software developer and has a broad university-level education in business administration, psychology and economics.

 

Anders Emilsson – VP Sales EMEA

Anders has more than 25 years of experience in the telecom industry. He was previously CEO of ServiceFactory (which was acquired by Aptilo Networks in January 2011 and incorporated as a business area). Before joining ServiceFactory, Anders held executive positions at TeliaSonera and Teo – the largest telecommunications operator in Lithuania – where responsibilities included driving Telia’s operator acquisitions, investment controlling processes and operational efficiency. Anders holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.

 

Per Knutsson – VP Products

Per has been VP Products and head of R&D at Aptilo since inception, part of the founding team 2001. Knutsson brings more than 30 years of telecom and IT experience, majority spent within various technical management roles within Ericsson, partly in the US. Holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Linköping, Sweden.

 

 

Jan Sjönell – VP Internet of Things

Jan boasts 35 years of experience in the IT industry spent in different executive sales and marketing positions and was part of Aptilo Networks’ founding team in 2001. After 15 years as Managing Director for Aptilo’s APAC region, Jan relocated back to Sweden to further develop Aptilo’s Internet of Things (IoT) business. Before Aptilo Networks, Jan was Director of Business Development at Axis, where he responsible for the Asia Pacific market in the Mobile Internet Division. He also worked in the APAC region in different management positions for Ericsson. Prior to these roles he worked to establish Sonera in Sweden and held a number of senior management positions in the Internet and sales divisions there. Jan had also spent five years in sales with Sun Microsystems and in the telecom operator segment with the previous Swedish PTT, Telia. Jan holds an MBA from Uppsala University, Sweden.
