Cisco selects Aptilo for Service Provider Wi-Fi

Cisco selects Aptilo for SP Wi-Fi

August 30, 2017/in Carrier Wi-Fi, Guest Wi-Fi /by Johan Terve

Aptilo SMP part of Cisco Service Provider Wi-Fi

Cisco and Aptilo are already long-standing Wi-Fi ecosystem partners with deployments that include tier 1 operators such as Telia Company, Oi, TIM, Swisscom, STC, Telenor and PT Telkom. Now we take it to the next level. Aptilo Service Management Platform™ (SMP), with its AAA, captive portal and policy control functions, is part of Cisco Universal Wi-Fi from release 7.0.

Cisco and Aptilo continue to define and innovate use cases that enable service providers not only to reduce their OPEX, but also to expand their Wi-Fi service offerings.

“We are proud to take our partnership with Cisco to the next level in creating a world-class end-to-end Wi-Fi solution that will greatly benefit operator competitiveness and ultimately the service to end-users on the street,” said Paul Mikkelsen, CEO, Aptilo Networks.

In Cisco Universal Wi-Fi release 7.0, Aptilo AAA, captive portal and policy solution was leveraged to validate web-authentication use cases with the Cisco SaMOG WAG gateway.

Integration with Aptilo SMP provides a carrier-class, fully featured captive portal solution that supports both RADIUS and Diameter interfaces. This enables seamless authentication and user access to both the internet and the carrier’s packet core as well as captive portal, AAA and Wi-Fi policy functions.
