STOCKHOLM – September 17, 2019 – Aptilo Networks has been named a finalist for three out of the six 2019 Wireless Broadband Alliance Industry Awards.
The WBA Annual Industry Awards recognize innovations and achievements in the Wi-Fi ecosystem.
Aptilo shares the nomination for Best Wi-Fi Network Operator with Canadian operator Telus.
“We are particularly pleased to be nominated together with Telus, one of our customers,” said Johan Terve, VP Marketing, Aptilo Networks. “Telus is running one of the best Wi-Fi services in the world, and we are proud to be enabling the service with the Aptilo Service Management Platform™.”
Aptilo’s new Virtual Service Provider innovation was nominated in the Best Wi-Fi Network Technology category. It enables a scaleable operator-managed corporate Wi-Fi and LAN service. Operators can leverage one infrastructure and SSID while still allowing each of their B2B customers to act as a virtual service provider, handling the daily operations toward their own business or residential customers.
Aptilo Zero-touch Wi-Fi IoT Connectivity innovation was nominated in the Best Enterprise Wi-Fi Network category. It creates a mass-market for IoT running on Wi-Fi networks, by breaking down existing barriers of connecting IoT devices to Wi-Fi. Typically, onboarding IoT devices to Wi-Fi is extremely challenging. Existing Wi-Fi connectivity solutions require a manual action when the device is switched on for the first time. This process must be repeated every time the security key for the Wi-Fi network is changed.
Aptilo’s solution works with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) IoT core to allow IoT devices to automatically and securely connect to Wi-Fi when switched on for the first time and every time thereafter.
