STOCKHOLM — The Cloud, Europe’s leading Wi-Fi network, will use the Aptilo Service Management Platform from Aptilo Networks to deliver its pay-as-you go service across all of its 5,000 UK hotspots in public and enterprise areas such as hotels, libraries, airports, corporate offices and conference centers.
The Cloud is Europe’s premier public wireless LAN Internet network. The company offers wholesale access to its network of more than 5,000 UK hotspots to companies such as Internet service providers, mobile operators and cable companies. Aptilo’s platform enables The Cloud to provide flexible, user-friendly pay-as-you-go access for WiFi users without a service provider subscription. The solution supports multiple payment methods.
Aptilo’s Service Management Platform for public WLAN solutions for hotspots and hotzones is already being used at enterprise offices, hotels, airports, cafés and other public environments in over 30 countries on five continents.
“Aptilo Networks has provided The Cloud with a comprehensive, flexible and reliable platform that enables us to deliver wireless services to users without a service provider subscription, which is an important capability for our network,” says Peter Elliot, Chief Network Officer at The Cloud.
Aptilo Networks and The Cloud have also signed a Joint Marketing Agreement enabling them to offer solutions with complete service packages, comprising Aptilo’s platform solution and The Cloud’s network infrastructure and service management capabilities. The Cloud and Aptilo’s cooperation will extend across Europe as the two companies work to bring high quality WiFi services to many markets. As part of that drive, Aptilo and The Cloud have recently announced their involvement in the [email protected] consortium , which is focused on providing turn-key enterprise and public access solutions to the European rail sector. This approach has been underscored by The Cloud’s recently announced rollout of WiFi in Swedish rail stations.
“As a neutral host operator The Cloud is a very important customer and partner. The Cloud’s selection of the Aptilo service Management Platform as the delivery platform for its customers, including major service providers, is proof that we have a technologically superior and competitive solution,” says Torbjörn Wård, CEO of Aptilo Networks.
