STOCKHOLM – Aptilo Networks, the leading provider of mobile data offloading solutions, announced today that the Aptilo 3GPP Wi-Fi Access Unified Solution feature of the Aptilo Service Management Platform™ (SMP) has been nominated for the 2015 Compass Intelligence Mobility Awards, for the Technology Innovation: Software category.
The Mobility Awards program honors organizations at the pinnacle of the mobile and wireless world. Winners will be announced at the 2015 International CES on January 7, 2015.
New security features have been added to Aptilo SMP to enable integration of carrier Wi-Fi across technologies and devices. These features enable “trusted” 3GPP Wi-Fi access for all devices in the Wi-Fi ecosystem. According to the standards, 3GPP Wi-Fi access is limited only to devices such as mobile phones with support for SIM authentication (EAP-SIM/AKA). Aptilo SMP extends the highest level of Wi-Fi security, with support for the standardized 3GPP Wi-Fi access, to all devices.
