STOCKHOLM — Aptilo Networks has supplied a system for guest network access to the House of Sweden in Washington D.C., where the Swedish Embassy and representatives of Swedish commerce are gathered under the same roof. Using the Aptilo Guest Internet Access System™, all visitors can be offered wireless access to the Internet throughout the building.
When visitors check in at the House of Sweden reception desk, time-limited individual user accounts can be created using a web-based tool. The generation of the temporary E-voucher accounts are handled by the reception staff or by other employees in the building, therefore relieving the IT department of this workload. The IT department, however, retains central administrator facilities and supervision of the service operation as a whole.
“We are proud of being able to supply our guest access solution to this prestige project in Washington D.C. When you look at House of Sweden’s profile, with so many visitors and business representatives on the premises and a state-of-the-art event center, there is a tremendous need for a professional working environment that includes broadband connectivity. At the same time this has to be done in a secure and controlled fashion, both for the individual visitor and for the local IT environment which is something the Aptilo system takes care off, ” says Jonas Lagerquist, Business Development Manager at Aptilo Networks.
The Aptilo Guest Internet Access System, in conjunction with network infrastructure from leading infrastructure manufactures, provides a scalable and cost-effective solution for enterprises wishing to provide secure temporary Internet access capabilities at a single campus or within multiple offices. As well as the high level of system security, zero configurations is an important feature. This means that visitors can, in all situations, connect their laptops to the network without any need for specific installation changes or device adaptations.
Many enterprises and institutions are realizing the benefit of providing a guest access service based on the Aptilo Guest Internet Access System including NASA, the European Commission, the Stockholm School of Economics and Hewlett Packard.
