KIRKLAND, Wash. and STOCKHOLM — Wavelink Corporation, a leading provider of mobile infrastructure management software for the enterprise, today announced it has partnered with Aptilo Networks, a leading provider of purposed developed carrier-class wireless hotspot solutions. Aptilo Networks enables service providers and operators to offer wireless Internet access in public areas such as airports, coffee shops, hotels and conference centers. By partnering with Wavelink, Aptilo Networks will be able to offer advanced wireless management tools to their customers to ensure their wireless hotspot networks are operating at peak performance. Wavelink is the first wireless management company to extend its capabilities to the hotspot market.

As hotspots proliferate across the globe, providers must maintain a high quality of service and security to satisfy growing customer demand and expectations. The cost of managing hotspots in terms of both time and money continues to rise as these popular networks expand and become more complex. By implementing Wavelink Mobile Manager, service providers can rapidly deploy and easily manage the infrastructure of all their hotspot locations from a central console.

“While there is much excitement about continued deployments of public wireless hotspots, the issue of how to manage and maintain these networks on an ongoing basis remains a challenge,” said David Bullis, president and CEO of Wavelink. “As a leader in wireless network management and a veteran in the wireless industry, Wavelink is well positioned to enter this emerging market and become the first to address this growing need with hotspot providers. Aptilo Networks is a leading hotspot solution provider and represent the perfect partner for Wavelink.”

“As hotspots expand to buildings and street corners in major cities, consumers have come to expect consistent high performance connections from their WiFi providers,” said Torbjorn Wård, CEO of Aptilo Networks. “The flexibility of enabling different business models and the quality of the hotspot network has a direct effect on customer loyalty. By partnering with Wavelink and combining the best of both worlds — the hotspot solution from Aptilo Networks and the Wavelink Mobile Manager — our customers can now ensure that their network will be managed and maintained to deliver the best possible end-user experience.”
