Scandic grants Aptilo and HP renewed trust in its EASY ACCESS wireless internet service
STOCKHOLM — Scandic, the Nordic countries´ leading hotel chain, is about to expand their free of charge EASY ACCESS Internet service. After three years of successful operation of Scandic´s service, HP and Aptilo Networks have received renewed trust in the continuation of delivery of operational services and infrastructure for another period three year period. As a measurement of this trust, Finland will also be included in the new agreement, while Scandic simultaneously expands to create a complete wireless coverage in all hotel rooms and meeting areas of their Nordic hotels. EASY ACCESS will be delivered as a total service by HP and will be commissioned, administered and supervised by Aptilo Networks´ Guest Internet Access System, a complete operations and administrations platform for Internet access.
The expansion includes all of Scandic’s hotels in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and now Finland who have been included in the concept for the new period of agreement. All meeting areas which today already have wireless connections will be provided with the possibility of fixed connections. Each hotel today already has, as a part of EASY ACCESS, a stationary computer with printer where guests who do not have their own computer can connect to the Internet.
”The EASY ACCESS service has during the past three years shown itself to be a very stable and user-friendly service. Both the demand for rooms with internet connection and the use of the service is increasing steadily and it is therefore natural for us to now offer the same service in all hotel rooms, in all hotels throughout the Nordic countries. This will, of course, continue to be free of charge for our guests,” said Martin Karlsson, IT Director at Scandic.
”As early as three years ago, Scandic understood the importance of offering their guests access to a secure, controlled and user-friendly connection to the Internet. Today, we all know that their assessment was correct and through the decision to expand Easy Access, Scandic has now strengthened their position as leader when it comes to supplying user-friendly IT -infrastructure for their guests. We are, of course, happy to continue to contribute to this development,” said Paul Mikkelsen, Sales Manager at Aptilo.
