CTIA SUPER MOBILITY WEEK, LAS VEGAS – Stadium Wi-Fi is a winning formula for Aptilo Networks, the leading provider of carrier-class Wi-Fi service management and offloading solutions. The company announced today that the Aptilo Service Management Platform™ has been deployed in several sports stadiums throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.
In the US, Aptilo teamed up with a systems integrator to help one of the top ten wireless operators enable carrier Wi-Fi services to stadiums across the country, starting with a university football stadium. It is just the latest in Aptilo’s string of North American stadium wins this year, a year that included successful Wi-Fi offloading and carrier Wi-Fi implementations at six different stadiums for 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil with the two large mobile operators TIM and Oi (formerly Brasil Telecom).
“Stadiums are just one of many examples where venue owners see a strong benefit in combining Wi-Fi with various types of applications and information to engage more with consumers, drive social media exposure and gain more understanding about their customers to be able to offer more relevant services. We call this Venue Wi-Fi and see a very strong interest in the market. It is a hot market. Aptilo gives venue owners and network operators the edge with our knowledge of bridging Carrier Wi-Fi and large-scale Venue Wi-Fi deployments,” said Torbjorn Ward, CEO, Aptilo Networks. “That expertise is what takes Wi-Fi in, for example, a sports stadium to a whole new level. That’s what delivers customer engagement. That’s what cements brand loyalty.”
Aptilo SMP enables carrier-class Wi-Fi to deliver an exceptional user experience. Aptilo SMP also allows for services customized to the venue, teams, event or other stakeholders such as event-branded web portals for advertising and marketing initiatives. Social media logins make access a snap. Location-based advertising and business-to-business opportunities generate revenue for venues and carriers. Together, these personalized, tailored services combine with a great carrier Wi-Fi experience to engage users, build loyalty and reduce churn.
