Tropos Networks and Metromesh Solution Partners to Show Industry’s First Municipal Wireless Ecosystem at CTIA
Metro-Scale Wi-Fi Mesh Market Leader to Feature Best-of-Breed Solution Partners at Industry’s Leading Global Wireless Technology Event
LAS VEGAS, NV – Tropos Networks, the proven leader in delivering ubiquitous, metro-scale, Wi-Fi mesh network systems, invites all attendees of the upcoming CTIA Wireless 2006 tradeshow, April 5th through 7th, to visit booth #4429 to see first hand the municipal wireless ecosystem that is fundamentally changing the face of broadband delivery worldwide.
In addition to the market-leading MetroMesh™ architecture, the Tropos Networks exhibit will feature representatives and demonstrations from companies providing essential products and services to the municipal wireless market. Participating MetroMesh Solution Partners include Aptilo Networks, Ellacoya Networks, Redline Communications and Ruckus Wireless.
“The benefits of metro-scale Wi-Fi have created a paradigmatic shift in the broadband delivery market,” says Ellen Kirk, Vice President of Marketing for Tropos Networks. “Our peerless MetroMesh architecture is the enabling piece of the puzzle in making low-cost mobile broadband available to the masses. The strategic partnerships we have forged with these participating companies provide a complete end-to-end solution to service providers looking to take advantage of the business opportunities this market represents.”
Aptilo Networks – Aptilo Networks develops carrier-grade solutions to service providers of public broadband and guest access services. Aptilo’s suite of products and offerings provide a reliable foundation for delivering and managing broadband access services over a Tropos MetroMesh network in commercial public, semi-public and private applications for Wi-Fi and WiMAX-based hotspots and municipal or metro-scale broadband networks.
Ellacoya Networks – Ellacoya, Inc., is a leading provider of service control systems for broadband networks, and is deployed in conjunction with Tropos metro-scale Wi-Fi mesh network products to deliver manageable WLAN metro networks. Ellacoya’s IP Service Control System (SCS) offers network operators an automated solution for managing subscriber bandwidth, including managing applications using Peer-to-Peer protocols. Ellacoya’s products can also enable tiered service offerings on broadband networks to address the needs of various market segments within a single network.
Redline Communications – Redline is a leader in the emerging WiMAX space, and the first in the world to market an 802.16-compliant product. The company has over 10,000 installations in 75 countries across six continents through a global distribution network of more than 80 partners. By combining metro-scale Wi-Fi products and WiMAX technologies, Redline and Tropos are cooperating to deliver an end-to-end, standards-based wireless broadband solution for metropolitan areas.
Ruckus Wireless – Ruckus Wireless is a next generation wireless company specializing in multimedia 802.11 wireless systems. The company’s patent-pending hardware and software technologies deliver improved speeds, whole-house coverage and reliable performance to the vast installed base of home wireless networks to enhance consumer experience in rich data and real-time media applications. The Ruckus MetroFlex product is purpose-built to deliver the best possible connectivity from subscriber homes to Tropos MetroMesh Wi-Fi networks.
The market-leading Tropos MetroMesh Architecture has been deployed in more than 300 cities in 30 countries worldwide. The patented and purpose-built MetroMesh OS, including the Predictive Wireless Routing Protocol (PWRP™) delivers the greatest concurrent subscriber capacity at the lowest cost in the industry. PWRP forms a wireless mesh, dynamically routing traffic along the highest throughput path to a wired gateway. The MetroMesh OS is integrated into carrier-class, purpose built platforms including the Tropos 5210 outdoor MetroMesh router and the Tropos 4210 mobile MetroMesh router. Network planning, optimization and support costs are minimized via the capabilities of the Tropos operation and optimization tools, which include Tropos Control, a purpose-built element management system for MetroMesh networks, Tropos Insight, an advanced MetroMesh analyzer and optimizer, and Tropos Drive, a drive-test appliance to determine quantifiable coverage and throughput in MetroMesh networks.
Media inquires for all five companies can be scheduled through the onsite media contact, or scheduled in person at booth #4429 throughout the duration of the CTIA Wireless 2006 show.
